The Big Red Barrel collection runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Recycle Livingston\, 170 Catrell Drive\, Howell\, MI 48843. \nThe medication and sharps collection is free. If you are also bringing ordinary recycling\, check Recycle Livingston’s separate membership and gate-fee rules. \nHow to prepare items\n\nPills: Remove them from their containers and place them together in a zip-top bag when possible. If you keep the original packaging\, remove or black out personal information.\nLiquid medication: Place enough paper towel in a zip-top bag to absorb the liquid\, then pour it into the bag. Keep different liquid medications separate.\nNeedles and syringes: Use an approved sharps container or a liquid-detergent bottle with its screw cap taped shut.\n\nThe Big Red Barrel program accepts medication and sharps at this site only on its scheduled collection days.
