Hartland Township is accepting applications from residents interested in becoming the township’s next treasurer. Applications are due by 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19.
The opening follows longtime Treasurer Kathie Horning’s decision to retire in December after 24 years of service, according to WHMI’s Oct. 6 report.
The treasurer is a statutory elected official responsible for township funds and property-tax collections. The work also includes financial records, special assessments, reports, annual audits and coordination with the Livingston County Treasurer’s Office.
Who can apply
Applicants must live in Hartland Township. A bachelor’s degree in accounting or related experience is preferred. The township is also looking for experience in municipal finance, governmental accounting, banking or business administration.
How to apply
Candidates should send a cover letter, resume and completed employment application to Hartland Township, Attn: Township Manager, 2655 Clark Road, Hartland, MI 48353. Applications may also be emailed to mluce@hartlandtwp.com with “Application for Township Treasurer” in the subject line.
