Produce outside, handmade goods inside: downtown Howell has two markets on the calendar for Sunday, October 4. Their hours overlap, so shoppers can visit both during one morning downtown.

The Howell Sunday Farmers Market opens at 9 a.m. beside the courthouse. The Winter Market at Howell Opera House starts an hour later. Both are scheduled to finish at 2 p.m.

Howell Sunday Farmers Market

• Hours: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Location: State and Clinton streets, beside the Livingston County Courthouse.
• What to browse: Produce, flowers, baked goods and artisan items.

• Hours: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Location: Inside Howell Opera House, 123 W. Grand River Avenue.
• Admission: Free.
• What to browse: Artwork, local honey, jewelry, bags, seasonal decorations and gifts.

A simple way to plan the morning

If you want the earlier start, head to the outdoor market first. If you arrive after 10 a.m., either stop works. The overlapping window runs from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.; leave yourself time for both before closing.

The outdoor market continues on Sundays through October. Howell Main Street also lists another Opera House Winter Market for October 18.
