Cleary University’s Johnson Center on the Livingston Campus in Howell

Michigan State University’s Jazz Nonet I will bring a free evening of live jazz to Cleary University on Thursday, November 5.

The evening opens from 6 to 7 p.m. with an Arthur Secunda Museum exhibit featuring music-inspired work. The nine-piece ensemble performs from 7 to 8 p.m. in Cleary Commons with Detroit drummer, vocalist, composer and bandleader Dr. Prof. Leonard King as the special guest.

The concert is free and open to the community. Donations are welcome, and Cleary asks guests to reserve a seat through the official RSVP form.

Location: Cleary Commons, Cleary University, 3750 Cleary Drive, Howell, MI 48843. The Commons is the first building on the right after entering the campus from Grand River Avenue, west of Latson Road.

Cleary describes the program as a first look at Livingston Jazz Fest, a new series planned for 2027. The university says two more jazz concerts are scheduled for early 2027.
