Drivers near Fowlerville should plan for daytime lane restrictions on I-96 on Monday, November 2, and Wednesday, November 4, with a separate Nicholson Road restriction listed for Thursday, November 5, 2026.
The Michigan Department of Transportation’s Mi Drive construction records, checked Monday morning, list the following schedule:
| Date | Location and restriction | Scheduled hours |
|---|---|---|
| Monday, November 2 | Westbound I-96, from the Fowlerville Road interchange to Nicholson Road: right lane closed. | 9 a.m.–3:01 p.m. |
| Wednesday, November 4 | Eastbound I-96, from the Fowlerville weigh-station ramp to Nicholson Road: right lane closed. | 9 a.m.–3:01 p.m. |
| Thursday, November 5 | Nicholson Road, from eastbound I-96 to Van Buren Road: alternating closure, identified as southbound in the state’s detail record. | 9 a.m.–3:01 p.m. |
Check the day for Nicholson Road: MDOT’s current list and individual closure record both show Thursday, November 5. That differs from the Wednesday date in WHMI’s November 2 report, which provided the initial lead for this advisory.
These are scheduled restrictions, not confirmation that crews have begun or finished work. Check Mi Drive for changes before traveling and allow extra time through the affected area.
State records: Monday’s westbound I-96 closure; Wednesday’s eastbound I-96 closure; Thursday’s Nicholson Road restriction.
